my travel stories
Place: Hikkim, Spiti Valley
At an elevation of 14,400 ft. and approximately 8 kilometers from Langza Village, you’ll come across Hikkim. If you’re not staying the night in Langza, you can travel from Kaza (approx. 16 km), and touch the nearby villages for a smooth day trip.
Best Time To Visit:
Depending on the kind of landscape you prefer, you may choose between summer and winter months. However, visiting Hikkim during peak winters can bring its own challenges due to the harsh weather and road conditions.
Things To Do:
Find yourself in the front porch of the world’s highest post office, run by post master Rinchen (in the photo) since it first started operation in 1983. Write a few of those heartwarming post cards for your loved ones, and don’t forget to mark one for yourself!

Place: Tanah Lot Temple, Bali, Indonesia
Whether you want to reach from Kuta or Ubud – this 16th century built Hindu temple can be reached within 45 min. Most solo travelers prefer renting bikes, as it gives the ease to explore places comfortably without pinching the travel budget.
Best Time To Visit:
While the temple remains open through the day, the best time to visit is between 6-7pm to catch the glorious sunset hues. Make sure to dress appropriately before visiting any Balinese temple.
Things To Do:
You can opt for a half-day excursion to visit Tanah Lot Temple or pick up an exclusive tour package and cover Ubud rice terraces too! If you want that extra thrill, visiting the Luwak Coffee farm in Ubud is not all that bad an idea. Make sure to get some back for home!

Place: Kubuqi Desert, Inner Mongolia, China

Things To Do:
If you’re visiting Kubuqi Desert, you must get yourself enrolled for a camel desert safari. There are different cultural shows organized through the year – not a bad idea to immerse yourself in some local culture if you’ve the extra time.
